About Setpoint
The HVAC company we wished we'd called.
Setpoint exists because most homeowners get burned at least once on a furnace or AC job — oversized equipment, surprise add-ons on the invoice, vague pricing, no follow-through. That's a fixable problem, and we set out to fix it.

The name
Setpoint is the HVAC industry term for the target temperature a thermostat is asked to maintain. Set it to 21°C, and the system runs until the house holds at 21°C. Simple, technical, and the entire job in one word.
The brand mark — a small gradient dot between “Setpoint” and “HVAC” running from cool blue to warm red — is the literal trade. Cool air, warm heat, comfort in the middle.
What we do
Three things, in residential homes only, in Woodstock and the 30-minute service radius:
- Air conditioning — repair, installation, replacement. Central AC, ductless mini-split, heat-pump cooling.
- Furnaces — repair, installation, replacement, high-efficiency upgrade, annual tune-up.
- Ventilation — HRV/ERV install, indoor air quality, whole-home humidifier and dehumidifier.
No duct cleaning. No commercial rooftop units. No bait-and-switch on equipment. Tight scope on purpose — it's what lets us do each thing properly.

How we work
We diagnose first, then we quote. No estimate written in advance. We figure out what's actually wrong, then we tell you what it costs to fix or replace. You sign off on the quote before anything else happens, and the quote you approve is the invoice you pay.
We size systems by Manual J heat-load calculation, not by square-footage rules-of-thumb. Oversizing is the easy contractor upsell — and it leaves homeowners with short-cycling equipment that runs less efficiently and dehumidifies worse than a properly-sized unit.
On rebates, we design jobs with current Ontario eligibility in mind — when it actually pencils out, not when it's a sales hook. See the rebates page for what's live now.

Where we don't go
30 minutes from Woodstock, no further. We don't do London, Brantford, or Kitchener-Waterloo — those markets have their own established HVAC companies who live nearby and can be on-site faster than we can. If you're outside our radius and call us anyway, we'll refer you somewhere good.
We don't make 24/7 promises we can't always keep. We don't claim manufacturer certifications we don't actually hold. We don't use fake testimonials. When we don't know something, we say so.
Licensing
Fully licensed for HVAC and gas work in the Province of Ontario. Fully insured. WSIB-cleared. See Licensing & Insurance for the details — or ask via the form and we'll email the documents the same day.
